Growing paper birth announcement cards with flower seeds are a sustainable choice. The growing paper is not only made from 100% recycled paper and is 100% biodegradable, but is also printed with biodegradable water-based ink. So you can plant the card in your garden with peace of mind. At the same time, you will be helping biodiversity, as the seeds will bloom into beautiful wildflowers, poppies, or even herbs. How it works
Your design
Simply order your seed paper birth announcement cards in the webshop. Here you can choose the paper type, seeds, format, and, if desired, envelopes. You can upload your design during the ordering process.
Testprint
Due to the seeds in the paper and the off-white colour, your design may look slightly different. That is why you can choose from three options during the ordering process: no testprint, a digital testprint, or a testprint sent by post. We will only print the birth announcement cards after you have approved them. We understand that you can only finalise the card after the birth of your little one. That is why it is possible to request a proof print of your draft design in advance. To do so, place an order with your draft design and, after the birth, send the final design to info@growingpaper.nl, quoting your order number, and we will start printing as soon as possible.
Delivery
We always try to prioritise birth announcement cards in production, but please note that it takes an average of 3-5 working days. Would you like to receive the envelopes earlier so that they are ready on time? No problem, just indicate this in the notes when placing your order. - Size of your design

Growing paper is full of “bumpy” seeds, which can cause streaks when printing large solid areas. - Light colours and small fonts can sometimes be difficult to read.
We advise against using text in light pastel colours, such as light yellow, light green, and light pink. - Double-sided printing on 80 gsm growing paper is not possible.
Please note that when creating a folded card, the print may show through. Only design on the front and right-hand inside page. - Planting instructions
Include planting instructions in your design. This way, the recipient will know exactly how to make the growing paper bloom! You can find these in the Growing Paper clip art in the design tool. Download various planting instructions. Please note: the icons are not included on the card by default.
Growing paper, also known as seed paper, is 100% recycled paper containing flower seeds. Plant the card in the garden, take good care of it, and after a week the first plants will appear.

Growingcard (250 grams)
Growingcard feels like a sturdy card and is made in South Africa with a lot of love and passion. The biodegradable paper has a beautiful natural, matte finish. It is made from 100% recycled paper that is hand-processed into a “seed paper pulp”. No chemicals are added, only water. Our supplier is a social enterprise that offers permanent employment, a living wage and training to more than 30 people in the local community. Because it is handmade paper, it does not have a uniform structure, making each sheet unique.
Growingpaper (150 grams)
This growing paper feels like thin, flexible cardboard. The seeds are clearly visible in the paper, giving it a natural structure. The paper is slightly thicker than the 80-gram paper and can therefore be printed on both sides.
Growing paper (80 grams)
The original Dutch growing paper feels like writing paper. This biodegradable paper has clearly visible seeds that give the paper a natural structure. It is made of two thin layers of paper glued together with potato starch, with the seeds in between. This paper is slightly thinner than the growing card, which has the advantage that the seeds germinate quickly but it can only be printed on one side.

The ink we use to print the birth announcement card is biodegradable, and our printers ensure that the seeds do not get too hot or crushed.
